This specification covers acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) schedule 40 plastic drain, waste, and vent pipe and fittings. ABS plastic which does not meet the material requirements is excluded. ABS plastic shall conform to the minimum content requirements of polymers or polymer blends and shall compose of acrylonitrile, butadiene, styrene or substituted styrene or both, and other monomeric or polymeric components. Pipe and fittings shall be homogenous and free of defects. Other requirements include dimensions, tolerances, stiffness, flattening, impact resistance, and bond strength. Sampling, conditioning, product marking, and quality shall conform to the requirements of this specification.
