This specification provides requirements and corresponding test methods for denatured ethanol intended to be used as a cooking or appliance fuel, or both. The addition of a denatonium benzoate and a colored dye is required. The minimum and maximum requirements for the amount in which denatonium benzoate must be added are specified. The hydrocarbons approved for use under this specification are gasoline, unleaded gasoline, natural gasoline, heptane, or rubber hydrocarbon solvent.
