This specification covers requirements for polyethylene (PE) pipe and fittings for normal residential and commercial roof drain systems. Material for pipe or fitting shall be made from PE virgin plastic as defined by hydrostatic design stresses and shall contain suitable stabilizers and antioxidants. Pipe and fitting requirements include pipe dimensions, fitting dimensions, chemical resistance, water absorption, system integrity, sealing rings, flattening, impact resistance, workmanship, finish, and appearance. Test methods include test conditions, chemical resistance, water absorption, hydrostatic pressure test, mechanical-joint pullout test, threads, flattening, and impact resistance. Quality and product marking shall also conform to the requirements of this specification.
