Annotation of standard text IRS 60623-2-2ed. :

This IRS defines the procedure and conditions applicable to the approval testing of diesel engines for motive power units. On completion of the test procedure, the engine shall be approved by UIC for unrestricted use in railway motive power units within the area of application. It shall be guaranteed that the engine meets current exhaust requirements.

Zertifizierung von Dieselmotoren der Triebfahrzeuge| In diesem IRS werden die Vorgangsweise, die Verfahren und die Bedingungen definiert, die für die Zulassungsprüfung von Dieseltraktionsmotoren gelten. Nach Absolvierung des Prüfverfahrens wird der Motor von der UIC ohne Einschränkung der Stückzahl und des Anwendungsbereiches als Eisenbahntraktionsmotor freigegeben, wobei unter anderem garantiert wird, dass er die bestehenden Abgasvorschriften erfüllt.
