Diese Internationale Norm legt Anforderungen an die Sicherheit von REIZSTROMGERÄTEN zur Stimulation von Nerven und Muskeln, wie in 201.3.204 definiert, zur Verwendung in der physikalischen Medizin fest, die nachstehend als ME-GERÄTE bezeichnet werden. Hierzu gehören REIZSTROMGERÄTE für transkutane elektrische Stimulation von Nerven (TENS) und REIZSTROMGERÄTE für elektrische Stimulation von Muskeln (EMS).
