Diese Norm beschreibt eine Methode zur Bestimmung der austauschbaren Kationen und der effektiven Kationen-Austauschkapazität von Böden und Auflagehumus durch Extraktion mit Bariumchlorid-Lösung. Die Bariumchlorid-Lösung ist ungepuffert, daher erfolgt die Extraktion bei einem pH-Wert, der vorwiegend durch den Boden bestimmt wird (effektive Austauschkapazität).
