Diese Europäische Norm legt ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung der Widerstandsfähigkeit von Kochgeschirr aus Keramik, Glas, Glaskeramik oder Kunststoff gegen Mikrowellenerhitzung fest. Die Norm gilt für Gegenstände, die zum mehrmaligen Gebrauch in einem Mikrowellengerät vorgesehen sind. Auf Wegwerf-Gegenstände, die nur einmalig benutzt werden, ist die Norm nicht anwendbar, was speziell für Gegenstände aus Kunststoff zutrifft.
