Diese Europäische Norm legt ein Verbrennungsverfahren zur Bestimmung des Kohlenstoffgehaltes, sofern vorhanden, auf der Innenoberfläche von Rohren aus Kupfer oder Fittings aus Kupfer oder Kupferlegierungen fest. Diese Norm ist nur auf nahtlose, runde Kupferrohre, wie z. B. in EN 1057 und EN 13348 oder auf Fittings aus Kupfer oder Kupferlegierungen wie in EN 1254 (alle Teile) festgelegt, anzuwenden.
