Diese Norm legt Begriffe für Schraubenpropeller von Vortriebsanlagen für Schiffe und schwimmendes Gerät (z.B. mobile Offshore-Bohranlagen) mit eigenen Vortriebsanlagen oder Hilfsvortriebsanlagen fest. Die Begriffe gelten nur für den hydrodynamisch wirksamen Teil des Propellers. Festlegungen für die maschinenbauliche Gestaltung der Nabe sind nicht betroffen. Begriffe für hydraulisch betätigte Verstellpropeller-Anlagen siehe ÖNORM EN ISO 3715-2.
