Dieser Teil der Internationalen Norm legt ein Verfahren zum Bestimmen des Gehaltes an Phthalsäure von Alkydharzen fest. Diese Norm ist nur auf Alkydharze, die nur o-Phthalsäure als Polycarbonsäure enthalten, anwendbar. Die Norm ist nicht anwendbar für modifizierte Alkydharze oder Harze, die Benzoesäure enthalten.
