Diese OVE-Richtlinie legt Anforderungen an die Planung und die Errichtung von elektrischen Anlagen zur richtungsvariablen Fluchtweglenkung in Neu- und Bestandsgebäuden fest, mit denen die Selbstrettung in sichere Bereiche innerhalb oder außerhalb des Gebäudes unterstützt wird. Die Richtlinie enthält Vorgaben für die Planung, Errichtung, Prüfung, Dokumentation, Betrieb und Wartung von richtungsvariablen Fluchtweglenkungssystemen, welche widmungsabhängig und /oder im Gefahrenfall nutzbare Fluchtwege eindeutig anzeigen. Adaptive Fluchtweglenkungssysteme (d. h. Systeme, welche sich kontinuierlich an unterschiedliche Ereignisse anpassen können) werden in dieser Richtlinie nicht behandelt.
