Er bildet die Plattform, auf der alle Aktivitäten des Beton- und Stahlbetonbaus im Bereich der Forschung sowie der Regelgebung zusammenlaufen. Der DAfStb gibt eine der umfangreichsten und angesehensten Schriftenreihe des Betonbaus heraus. Seit 1947 sind weit über 400 der "grünen" Hefte erschienen.
