Die Technischen Regeln für Trinkwasser-Installationen bestehen derzeit aus den europäischen Normen DIN EN 806 und DIN EN 1717 sowie nationalen Ergänzungsnormen wie DIN 1988 für Planung, Ausführung und Betrieb. Damit diese neue komplexe Konzeption aus europäischen und nationalen Regelwerken von den Anwendern verstanden wird, werden vom ZVSHK Kommentare verfasst. Die DIN EN 806-1 beschreibt technische Begriffe, grafische Symbole und Kurzzeichen, die übergreifend für alle anderen Normenteile von DIN EN 806, DIN EN 1717 und DIN 1988 anzuwenden sind. Alle Ausführungs- und Revisionszeichnungen sind zukünftig nach den Vorgaben dieser Norm zeichnerisch darzustellen.
