Aufgrund des erheblich gestiegenen Seitenumfangs wurde das ehemalige DIN-Taschenbuch 459 inhaltlich auf zwei Bände aufgeteilt. Der neue Band 2 enthält nun 37 Normen und vier Vornormen über Blei, Zink und Zinn. Neu hinzugekommen sind weitere Dokumente, u. a. die Produktnorm DIN EN 14290 über zinkhaltige Sekundärrohstoffe. Ergänzt wird der Band durch die Grundnorm DIN EN 10204 mit Festlegungen zu Prüfbescheinigungen für metallische Erzeugnisse. Der dazugehörige Band 1 umfasst insgesamt 43 Normen und einen Norm-Entwurf zu den Nichteisenmetallen Magnesium, Nickel, Titan und deren Legierungen.
