Seit der Erstausgabe des Taschenbuchs im Jahr 2003 sind zahlreiche Normen neu erschienen oder überarbeitet worden, so dass mit der vorliegenden 2. Auflage eine Aufteilung des Werkes auf zwei Bände erfolgte. Band 1 führt sämtliche aktuell relevanten Normen zu den Nichteisenmetallen Magnesium, Nickel, Titan und deren Legierungen auf. Das sind insgesamt 43 Normen und 1 Norm-Entwurf, darunter z. B. DIN 17007-4, in der die Systematik der Hauptgruppen 2 und 3 für Nichteisenmetalle behandelt wird. Außerdem stellt der Titel die in DIN EN 10204 beschriebenen Prüfbescheinigungen für metallische Erzeugnisse bereit. Band 2 des Taschenbuchs liefert 37 Normen und 4 Vornormen für Blei, Zink, Zinn und deren Legierungen.
