Der dritte Teil der DIN 4108 definiert die feuchteschutz-relevanten physikalischen Größen und enthält Festlegungen für den Tauwasserschutz. Mithilfe dieser Berechnungsverfahren und Grenzwerte können Tauwasserausfall und evtl. daraus resultierende Schäden im Bauteilinneren überprüft werden. Außerdem regelt DIN 4108-3 die Nachweisführung zum Tauwasserausfall auf Bauteiloberflächen und legt Anforderungen zur Vermeidung von Durchfeuchtung und Schädigung von Außenwänden durch Schlagregen fest. Mit der Kommentierung einzelner Normabschnitte soll den Anwendern Hintergrundwissen und Erläuterungen zur Verfügung gestellt werden, mit deren Hilfe eine eindeutige Anwendung möglich ist. Außerdem enthält die Publikation Informationen und technische Hilfsmittel, die die Norm ergänzen und die Anwendung vereinfachen.
