Das DIN-Taschenbuch 36 "Erd- und Grundbau" ist auf die besonderen Bedürfnisse der Planung, Bemessung und Berechnung von Gründungen abgestimmt. Dabei werden auch der Nachweis der Standsicherheit von Schlitzwänden, Grundbruchwiderstandsberechnungen, Setzungsberechnungen für Flachgründungen sowie Festlegungen für Baugruben und für Unterfangungen bestehender Gebäude berücksichtigt. Der Inhalt untergliedert sich nach Berechnungsgrundlagen und Berechnungsverfahren. Die Normensammlung wurde aktualisiert und erweitert: abgedruckt sind die Originaltexte von 13 DIN- und DIN-EN-Normen, fünf Beiblättern und einer Änderung. Ergänzt wird diese Normensammlung durch das DIN-Taschenbuch 113 "Erkundung und Untersuchung des Baugrunds" und das DIN-Taschenbuch 376 "Untersuchung von Bodenproben und Messtechnik".
