Im Mittelpunkt des Buches steht der Vorbeugende Brandschutz in historischen Bauten. Ausgehend von der brandschutztechnischen Gefahrenanalyse im Einzelfall (mit Checkliste) werden zusammenfassend alle grundlegenden Belange des Brandschutzes in der Baudenkmalpflege beleuchtet und zur normalen Sanierungstätigkeit im Bestand abgegrenzt. Des Weiteren geht es um geeignete Maßstäbe bei der Restaurierung bzw. Instandsetzung von Baudenkmalen, um generelle Kompensationsmöglichkeiten und um sinnvollen Kulturgutschutz. Die zweite Auflage wurde auf Grundlage des neuen Arbeitsblattes 13 "Brandschutz im Baudenkmal" der Landesdenkmalpflege überarbeitet und durch neue Beispiele ergänzt. Der Praxis-Band gibt Hilfestellung bei der Planung und der Erstellung geeigneter Brandschutzkonzepte.
