1.1 This test method covers the sampling, preparation of specimens, and determination of the absorption of architectural cast stone. 1.2 This test method describes two procedures: ( ) cold water and ( ) boiling water. The user of the test method should stipulate which is desired. If no stipulation is made, the cold water procedure will be used. 1.3 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety problems, if any, associated with its use.
