|
1.1 This test method describes a procedure for measuring the sonic velocity in manufactured carbon and graphite materials having a grain size less than 0.80 mm ( 1/32 in.). The sonic velocity can be used to obtain an approximate value for Young's modulus. 1.2 This standard may involve hazardous materials, operations, and equipment. This standard does not purport to address all of the safety problems associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use . |
