This specification describes the required properties and test methods for cold liquid-applied elastomeric-type membranes for waterproofing building decks and walls subject to hydrostatic pressure in building areas to be occupied by personnel, vehicles, or equipment. This specification applies only to a membrane system that will be covered with a separate wearing course, traffic course, or backfill. After application by spreading or spraying, the membrane materials shall cure to form an elastomeric film capable of maintaining a seal against liquid water. Materials shall undergo appropriate tests and conform accordingly to the following requirements: hardness; weight loss; nonvolatile matter content; low temperature crack bridging; film thickness; adhesion-in-peel after water immersion; extensibility after heat aging; and storage stability.

This specification applies only to a membrane system that will be covered with a separate wearing course, traffic course, or backfill. membrane.
1.2?There are no ISO standards similar or equivalent to this ASTM standard. 1.3?The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound units are to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated in each system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, each system shall be used independently of the other.
