1.1 This practice covers the evaluation of residual stresses in extruded profiles, as extruded, or in molded ABS parts, as molded. Residual stresses are indicated by the presence of cracking of the specimen upon immersion in glacial acetic acid. 1.2 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use. Specific precautionary statements are given in Section 7. Note 1-There is no equivalent ISO standard. |
