1.1 This practice covers the determination of bromine and chlorine in rubber. 1.2 This procedure is applicable to raw or cured NR, SBR, BR, IR, IIR, CIIR, BIIR, and EPDM rubbers and blends of these. 1.3 Iodine interferes, but substances such as Zn 2+, S, CN-, and (CO3) 2- do not. 1.4 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as the standard. The values in parentheses are for information only. 1.5 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use.
