1.1 This practice covers laboratory procedures for the preparation of granular samples of coke for examination with a reflected light microscope. The samples prepared are used for identifying and quantifying the textural components in coke. This practice does not apply to the preparation of oriented lump specimens of coke for structural analysis. 1.2 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as the standard.
