1.1 This practice establishes the certification requirements for less lethal aerosol devices used by law enforcement, corrections officers, and other public safety officers. 1.1.1 This practice is intended to be used by certification bodies and by purchasers and suppliers in the procurement of less lethal aerosol devices that meet Specification E3187/E3187M. 1.1.2 The performance, testing, labeling, documentation, and reporting requirements for certification are specified in Specification E3187/E3187M. 1.2 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use.
