1. Scope | ||||||||||
1.1 This classification covers municipal mixed nonferrous metals (MNM), not source-separated, that are recovered from municipal waste destined for disposal. 1.2 The mixed nonferrous metals (MNM) have been sub-divided according to processing history, nonferrous metal content, size, and moisture content. 1.3 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as the standard. The values given in parentheses are for information only. This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use. 1.4 This test method describes procedures for collection of a sample of MNM scrap recovered from municipal refuse, and the preparation and secondary sampling of the metal for analysis. |
