Norma platí pro ruční, mechanizované a automatizované zkoušení ocelových kruhových bezešvých trubek o vnějším průměru od 9 mm a tloušťce stěny od 1 mm ultrazvukovou impulzovou metodou. ČSN 01 5028 byla schválena 23.5.1988 a nabyla účinnosti od 1.1.1989. Spolu s díly 1, 2 a 4 nahradila ČSN 01 5028 z r.1980
