Touto normou se zavádí ST SEV 288-82 jako ČSN, jíž se pro potřeby tehdejší ČSSR (ČSFR), resp. ČR doplňuje asi 15 čl., podobně jako dosud platná ČSN, převádějící ST SEV 288-76. Norma RVHP určuje formu pasportu parních kotlů s přetlakem nad 0,07 MPa a horkovodních kotlů o teplotě vody nad 115 °C. Neurčuje povinnost vyplňovat všechny tab. a rubriky pasportu a neurčuje rozsah a druh vykonávaných zkoušek. Dodržení zásad bezpečnosti práce při vyplňování pasportu je zaručena tím, že zpracovatelem normy je ČÚBP. Pasport má celkem 15 částí. ČSN 07 0008 byla schválena 30.8.1984 a nabyla účinnosti od 1.10.1985. Nahradila ČSN 07 0008 ze 4.12.1978
