Norma stanoví základní parametry a technické požadavky na ocelové nádoby ručních postřikovačů o celkovém vnitřním objemu 9 - 22 litrů, s největším pracovním přetlakem 0,5 MPa vyráběné po 1.1.1966. Jsou odchylně normalizovány (oproti ČSN 69 0010) konstrukce a výstroj. Z bezpečnostního hlediska jsou významné normalizované požadavky na zkoušení a dokumentaci. ČSN 07 8122 byla schválena 7.4.1965 a nabyla účinnosti od 1.11.1965. "Změnou a)-8-9/1978" se s účinností od 1.1.1978 převádí jednotky na platný stav podle soustavy SI
