Norma je překladem ST SEV 4028-88 s čs. doplňky. Platí pro odlučovací zařízení všech typů nezávisle na principu funkce a stanoví pravidla přejímky, metody a podmínky předběžných a konečných přejímacích a předávacích zkoušek. V poměrně stručné normě jsou jen v obecné poloze specifikovány podmínky přejímky a pak metodika předběžných a dále konečných přejímacích a předávacích zkoušek. ČSN 12 4015 byla schválena 15.11.1989 a nabyla účinnosti od 1.1.1991. Nahradila ČSN 12 4015 z 26.11.1984
