Norma platí pro balení, dopravu a skladování průmyslových armatur a dále uvádí pokyny pro montáž, údržbu a opravy. Z hlediska bezpečnosti práce stojí za pozornost především kapitola II. Montáž a opravy, kde jsou stanoveny podmínky nejen pro montáž, ale i pro uvádění do provozu a údržbu za provozu. ČSN 13 3060-3 byla schválena 9.1.1978 a nabyla účinnosti od 1.6.1979. Nahradila ČSN 13 3060 z r.1959. "Změnou a)-5/1989" se s účinností od 1.7.1989 mění několik ustanovení normy a mění i název "Změnou b)-8/1990" se s účinností od 1.10.1990 mění znění čl.4
