Tato norma obsahuje ISO 3855:1977 s národními modifikacemi. Norma ISO stanovuje názvosloví fréz v anglickém a francouzském jazyce. Norma tedy stanovuje názvosloví ve dvou oficiálních jazycích ISO (v anglickém a francouzském) a jejich ekvivalentní výrazy v německém a italském jazyce.
