Norma stanoví základní ustanovení společná dopravním pásům s textilní kostrou a s hladkým povrchem, s krycími vrstvami a ochrannými okraji z pryže nebo z polyvinylchloridu. Na tuto normu navazují předmětové normy pro jednotlivé druhy dopravních pásů s textilní kostrou. Za pozornost stojí zejména normalizované všeobecné i technické požadavky a podmínky pozužití, které umožňují posoudit správnost využívání různých dopravních pásů především z technického hlediska. ČSN 26 0378 byla schválena 11.3.1989 a nabyla účinnosti od 1.6.1991
