Norma platí pro dopravní pásy s textilní kostrou s hladkým povrchem a s krycími vrstvami z gumy nebo PVC, určených pro všeobecné použití. Základní ustanovení, týkající se dopravních pásů jsou uvedena v ČSN 26 0378. Jsou normalizovány především technické požadavky a stručně zkoušení. Z normy lze odečíst mnohé technické vlastnosti pásů. ČSN 26 0381 byla schválena 21.11.1988 a nabyla účinnosti od 1.3.1991. Nahradila ČSN 26 0381 z 28.12.1976. "Změnou 1)-11/1992" se s účinností od 1.1.1993 ruší v tab. 6 hodnoty vlastnosti odolnosti proti oděru a nahrazují novým textem
