Touto normou se zavádí ST SEV 1721-79 jako ČSN, jíž se pro potřeby tehdejší ČSSR (ČSFR), resp. ČR norma RVHP nedoplňovala. Norma RVHP platí pro jeřáby s nosnými lany (lanové a mostové lanové) a určuje bezpečnostní požadavky na ně. Těmito požadavky se rozumí: požadavky na konstrukci a všeobecné požadavky. Normalizovány jsou i zkoušky jeřábu a jeho pasport. Hlavním účelem normy (viz normy této skupiny "bezpečnostní technika") je bezpečnost práce. Všechny požadavky na konstrukci se tedy vztahují na zajištění technické bezpečnosti. ČSN 27 0531 byla schválena 13.7.1980 a nabyla účinnosti od 1.12.1981. Nahradila ON 27 3601 z 30.11.1964. "Změnou a)-7-8/1987" se s účinností od 1.9.1987 doplňuje norma o články 01 - 03, platné jen v tehdejší ČSSR (ČSFR), resp. ČR. Týkající se viditelnosti z kabiny, indikátorů v kabině a nárazníků
