Touto normou se zavádí ST SEV 5004-85 jako ČSN, jíž se pro potřeby tehdejší ČSSR (ČSFR), resp. ČR doplnily dva články. Norma RVHP platí pro neželezné kovy a jejich slitiny a stanovuje pravidla označování značek. Neplatí pro prášky z neželezných kovů a jejich slitin. ČSN 42 0054 byla schválena 10.4.1987 a nabyla účinnosti od 1.1.1988.

"Změnou 1)-6/1996 z června 19967 se s účinností od 1.7.1997 provádějí změny normy
