Touto normou se zavádí ST SEV 2019-79 jako ČSN, jíž se pro potřeby tehdejší ČSSR (ČSFR), resp. ČR norma RVHP nedoplňovala. Norma RVHP platí pro kulatinu surového dříví jehličnatých a listnatých dřevin a stanoví názvy a definice jejich viditelných vad podle ČSN 48 0203 (ST SEV 2017-79). Jsou normalizovány české, slovenské a ruské názvy 59 hesel. ČSN 48 0205 byla schválena 24.12.1981 a nabyla účinnosti od 1.1.1983. Nahradila ČSN 48 0006. "Změnou a)-12/1982" se s účinností od 1.3.1983 stanoví, že ČSN 48 0203, ČSN 48 0204 a ČSN 48 0205 společně nahrazují ČSN 48 0005 z r.1959. "Změnou 2)-10/1998" vydanou v říjnu 1998 se s účinností od 1.11.1998 nahrazují články 1 až 2.1.1, 2.1.1.2 až 2.2.2, 2.2.5, 3.1, 3.3 až 3.5.2, 4.1, 4.4, 4.6, 4.9, 6.2, 6.4., 6.5.1, 6.5.3 a 6.5.4.
