Norma platí pro bukové pražce pro koleje o rozchodu 1435 mm a 900 mm, absolutní vlhkosti 50 %. Jsou normalizovány postupy pro impregnaci, impregnační činidla (impregnační olej podle ČSN 65 8342) a také - v čl. 27 - pokyny pro ochranu zdraví. Je uvedeno, že platí ČSN 49 0600 a ČSN 49 1401 a také (obecné) vyhl. ČÚBP č. 48/1982 Sb. a SÚBP č. 59/1982 Zb. O současné platnosti hygienických předpisů se norma nezmiňuje a neuvádí je ani v Dodatku. ČSN 49 0616-1 byla schválena 28.2.1985 a nabyla účinností od 1.6.1986.
