Tato norma stanoví postup při odběru vzorků a při smyslovém, fyzikálním a fyzikálně-chemickém zkoušení suchých skořápkových plodů a jader plodů, jejichž jakostní ukazatele se uvádějí v příslušných předmětových normách. Podstata normalizovaných metod a postup při provádění normalizovaných zkoušek je (podrobně) popsán. Norma tedy stanovuje postupy pro provádění některých zkoušek (metod) zjišťování a/nebo ověřování znaků jakosti, důležitých z hlediska hygieny výživy.
