Touto normou se zavádí ST SEV 3971-83 jako ČSN, jíž se pro potřeby tehdejší ČSSR (ČSFR), resp. ČR do normy RVHP doplnily 4 články. Poslední z nich (čl. 04) požaduje při práci podle této normy dodržovat ustanovení ČSN 01 8003 - Zásady pro bezpečnou práci v chemických laboratořích. Norma RVHP platí pro oleje a hydraulické kapaliny a určuje dvě metody (A a B) pro stanovení mechanických nečistot. Princip metod obou zkoušek i postup při jejich provádění je podrobně popsán. ČSN 65 6220 byla schválena 30.8.1984 a nabyla účinnosti od 1.10.1985
