Tato norma platí pro přímé zkoušení míry namrzavosti zemin, recyklovaných materiálů a vedlejších produktů (např. popílek, hlušina, struska, recykláty) a to jak neupravených, tak upravených (dále jen zemin), které se používají na stavbu zemního tělesa dopravních staveb. Míra namrzavosti se určuje jen pro zeminy, které obsahují více než 5 % částic menších než 0,125 mm. Ostatní zeminy se považují za nenamrzavé
