Norma stanoví přesnost kontroly geometrických parametrů prostorové polohy, rozměrů a tvarů pozemních stavebních objektů včetně stavební jámy a rozměrů, tvaru, polohy a orientace konstrukcí těchto objektů a jejich částí během stavění, po dokončení stavby a pro kolaudaci. Norma nestanoví přesnost kontroly nezabudovaných stavebních dílců a výrobků pro vnitřní kompletaci, přesnost kontroly vytyčení a měření posunů stavebních objektů. Normu doplňuje 53 obrázků.
