Tato norma stanoví hodnoty požární odolnosti některých stavebních konstrukcí, dále jejich klasifikační zatřídění a také hodnocení druhu konstrukčních částí (dílců a prvků).
Normou je stanovena požární odolnost těch stavebních konstrukcí, na něž nelze použít Eurokódy a pro něž nejsou zpracovávány harmonizované EN.
