Tato norma platí pro projektování požární bezpečnosti změn dokončených staveb, pokud tyto změny podléhají ohlášení, změně účelu užívání nebo stavebnímu povolení podle příslušného právního předpisu. Norma stanoví požadavky požární bezpečnosti na měněné objekty nebo jejich části v návaznosti na ČSN 73 0802, ČSN 73 0804, ČSN 73 0810 a normy řady ČSN 73 08xx. Požární bezpečnost staveb měněných objektů nebo jejich částí se dovoluje vždy řešit i s plným uplatněním požadavků ČSN 73 0802, ČSN 73 0804, ČSN 73 0810 a norem řady ČSN 73 08xx; tyto normy také stanovují závaznou terminologii i pro změny staveb. Pro změny staveb kulturních památek (památkově chráněné stavby) platí tato norma v rozsahu přílohy B, kde je také uvedena příslušná terminologie
