Norma stanoví podmínky viditelnosti a metody výpočtu křivky viditelnosti v hledištích kulturnich objektů, popř. v hledištích téhož provozu, umístěných v objektech jiného účelu. Rozsáhlá stavebnětechnická norma (127 článků) stanoví podmínky viditelnosti i příslušné výpočty a obsahuje k tomu řadu nákresů. ČSN 73 5245 byla schválena 29.4.1986 a nabyla účinnosti od 1.1.1988. Nahradila ČSN 73 5250 z 28.2.1961 a ČSN 73 5252 z 28.12.1961
