Tato norma stanovuje požadavky na přípravu, provádění a kontrolu shody hutněných asfaltových vrstev, které nejsou upraveny v normě ČSN 73 6121, avšak jsou používány při výstavbě, opravě či obnově pozemních komunikací a kolejových (drážních) staveb v případě asfaltových směsí upravených přílohou F této normy. Norma navazuje na platné technické normy pro asfaltové směsi, materiály a výrobky, související s výstavbou asfaltových hutněných vrstev. Tato norma platí pro provádění hutněných asfaltových vrstev pozemních komunikací (včetně nemotoristických komunikací a jiných dopravních ploch), letištních drah a ploch, skladovacích ploch a kolejových (drážních) staveb v případě přílohy F; obecně všech asfaltových hutněných ploch zatěžovaných dopravou, pokládaných mechanizovaným způsobem, zejména finišery
