Tato norma stanovuje požadavky na přípravu, provádění a kontrolu shody hutněných asfaltových vrstev. Navazuje na platné evropské normy pro asfaltové směsi, materiály a výrobky, související s výstavbou asfaltových hutněných vrstev. Tato norma platí pro provádění hutněných asfaltových vrstev pozemních komunikací (včetně nemotoristických komunikací a jiných dopravních ploch), ochranných vrstev na mostech, letištních drah a ploch, skladovacích ploch; obecně všech asfaltových hutněných ploch zatěžovaných dopravou, pokládaných převážně mechanizovaným způsobem, zejména finišery. Pro posuzování shody a označování výrobků CE se používá harmonizovaná norma, která je oznámená v Úředním věstníku EU
