Tato norma specifikuje stanovení huminových látek (HL) extrakční fotometrickou metodou. Zkouška je použitelná při rozboru povrchové vody a surové vody určené k úpravě na vodu pitnou. Je vhodná i pro stanovení HL v pitné vodě. Metodu lze použít pro stanovení hmotnostních koncentrací HL od 0,5 mg/l do 15 mg/l v kyvetách s optickou délkou 5 cm. Vyšší koncentrace se stanoví v kyvetách kratších optických délek
