Norma platí pro používání obalových materiálů zušlechtěných vypařovacími inhibitory koroze pro ochranné balení technických výrobků vyrobených zcela nebo zčásti z kovů, a stanoví zásady pro zajištění jejich řádné funkce v bariérových obalových systémech. Norma pouze v čl. 9 odkazuje na to, že pokyny pro ochranu zdraví jsou shrnuty v ČSN 03 8205. Dále ovšem stanoví, že "předpisy pro bezpečnost a ochranu zdraví při zacházení s konkrétním druhem antikorozního materiálu stanoví spolu s předpisy hlavních hygieniků ČR a SR výrobce. Uživatel je povinnen zajistit jejich dodržování." ČSN 77 0112 byla schválena 6.1.1983 a nabyla účinnosti od 1.7.1984
