Norma platí pro výrobu, dodávání a zkoušení obuvnických vrchových chromitých usní z vepřovic, upravených broušením rubu na velury, broušením líce na nubuky. Tabelárně je normalizován obsah oxidu chromitého na 2,0 - 7,0 %, a vyluhovatelný chrom, zkoušený podle ČSN 79 3873, nesmí překročit 100,00 µg.g-1. ČSN 79 2261 byla schválena 1.9.1986 a nabyla účinnosti od 1.8.1987. Nahradila ČSN 79 2261 z 12.12.1955 a ČSN 79 2263 z 27.7.1959.
